HIStory3: Trapped 圈套 Fan Community

Tang Yi sits waiting for news in the hospital. Lovely Dr Jiang stages a small intervention - telling him he’s got a good thing in Meng Shao Fei and he should let go of his obsession with revenge. Meng Shao Fei wakes up and is weirdly perky for someone who’s just been shot, but then I suppose it’s almost a weekly event for him at this stage.



He and Tang Yi talk, and Tang Yi eventually agrees to turn A-Zhi over to the police. Meng Shao Fei tells him he loves him and, in a gorgeous moment, Tang Yi puts his handcuffed wrists over his head so he can embrace him.

The episode opens with Tang Yi meeting with Chen Wen Hao. Chen Wen Hao talks about how it was loyalty (to Tang Guo Dong, although we don't learn this until a later scene) which kept him in jail for 24 years. Tang Yi accuses Chen Wen Hao of bribing Ah-De to act for him, Chen Wen Hao responds by accusing Tang Yi of not keeping to their agreement, and finally Tang Yi pretty blatantly threatens him with revenge.

In a flashback, we see Chen Wen Hao and Tang Guo Dong running from pursuers. They're obviously close friends. There's a time jump to a later flashback and they're now by a river, talking about how Tang Guo Dong is on the point of being sent to jail. Chen Wen Hao says that Xin Tian Meng wouldn't survive without him, and offers to take the fall, and his place in jail. He asks Tang Guo Dong to take care of his girlfriend and says, "you can't let her know."

Back in the present, Chen Wen Hao gives Jack a meaningful look.

Meanwhile, Meng Shao Fei is searching through police records to find more information about Li Li Zhen's connection to Tang Guo Dong. He finds a secret compartment in Li Li Zhen's music/puzzle box, which conceals a birth certificate of someone with the same birth date as Tang Yi. Deng deng deng!

Recapper note: I'm away this weekend, so episode 9 will go up on Weds 5th. Also, apologies for the lack of pretty in this post, I'm battling a semi-dead laptop which is making including gifs and pics quite tricky.

The episode starts in the hospital with Tang Yi holding a sleeping Meng Shao Fei's hand and looking down at him fondly. Meng Shao Fei wakes and smiles up at him. Huang Yi Qi turns up and tries to get into the room but Zhao Zi, who has excellent EQ and has picked up exactly which way the wind is blowing, prevents her until Tang Yi comes out.

Tang Yi meets with Chen Wen Hao alone and, obviously shaken by the attack on Zuo Hong Ye and the Meng Shao Fei collateral damage, reluctantly agrees that they won't mess with each other's areas of business.

Back at the hospital, Zhao Zi is snoring on the couch next to a thirsty Meng Shao Fei, and Tang Yi turns up like a ministering angel and helps Meng Shao Fei drink some water. Meng Shao Fei takes his hand and sweetly tells him he looks better when he smiles.

Zhao Zi wakes up to find Jack the troll rather than Meng Shao Fei in the hospital bed. Then we get a sweet moment when Zhao Zi tells him his grandma prophesied he'd find someone to take care of him and provide for him, and Jack promptly produces the breakfast he's brought him.

Andy and Tang Yi watch Big K being arrested on CCTV from the back room of the bar and Andy shows he is not someone to be messed with when he says, "These people trying to sell drugs in my territory, they really don't want to live anymore."

Tang Yi arrives home to find Meng Shao Fei pulling faces at his security cameras like a brat. The quiet scene of them drinking tea in a cafe that follows is THE scene which sold me on them as a couple when I first watched. The look of joy on Meng Shao Fei's face when Tang Yi tells him Andy has a boyfriend is a sight to behold.

The episode begins with the police team sharing a meal, before Meng Shao Fei hauls off to confront Tang Yi at another cafe. We get a flashback to Tang Guodong teaching Tang Yi to cook, and it becomes clear that Tang Yi wants revenge on Chen Wenhao for Tang Guodong's death. Then the world's least subtle stake out leads to Meng Shao Fei getting all up in Tang Yi's face AGAIN and trying to provoke him to reveal more about Wang Kunchen's death and Chen Wenhao's return. They're suddenly attacked by mysterious assailants and end up fighting back to back before being kidnapped, then escape into the woods while handcuffed together.

Meanwhile, Jack hauls Zhao Zi off to try and shake him down for information about Tang Yi's whereabouts. Tang Yi and Meng Shao Fei hole up in an abandoned house for the night. Tang Yi freaks out about Meng Shao Fei touching his lighter and in flashback we see Tang Guodong giving it to him as Tang Yi promises to take on leadership of the mob after him. Meng Shao Fei, who was stabbed in the arm the previous day, wakes up feverish and the ep winds up with him tripping as they make their way down the mountain and falling into Tang Yi's arms.
