If you've ever fantasized about going on a ocean cruise with Andy Bian, Kenny Chen, Chris Wu for Valentine's Day, 2020 is your year (provided you have the money).

Andy/Kenny/Chris's agency, Singer & Actor Company, has just announced that they're selling tickets for a Taiwan (Keelung) - Okinawa (Ishigaki) 3 day/2 night roundtrip cruise.



Is this The Cruise?

Did Kenny and Andy's agency just hijack Kenny's birthday present cruise for commercial gain?! (Those poor boys! Andy bought Kenny the tickets because they wanted rest and privacy and everything, and now they're going to have to work and provide fanservice!)

...And does this mean that Andy originally got Kenny a cruise to Okinawa for just the two of them for Valentine's Day?! (If that's not solid proof they're dating, I'm not sure how much more evidence we need).

4、下午茶會在見面會抽取40名粉絲參與。

Oh hell no! Did they hijack Kenny's birthday present~! I am mad. You can tell Andy did that because he wanted some rest, some privacy with Kenny. They work a lot and getting some rest without people prying isn't easy for actors. ,_,

When I first saw the news it did pass my mind that maybe it's the cruise Andy bought for Kenny. But I thought no, there's no way their agency would go so low as to take away these mere 3 days from them (they deserve those days, damn it, let them rest!) But now that you have translated it... so it is to Okinawa. ,_, It must be the same one. *sigh*
I am now wondering, did Andy buy that gift without asking the agency first and then when they found out they threw a fit? Maybe they decided it's too... coupley? And they forbade it unless they made a compromise? Hmm. I wonder what happened. And I feel bad for Kenny and Andy, most of all. >.<

But looking on the bright side of things, yeah Andy would have bought Kenny a cruise to Okinawa for Valentine's Day... wow.

I mean, it's a 3-day/2-night trip to Okinawa.

Either the agency hijacked the cruise, for the exact reason you said (it's too coupley), or the fans have started speculating and started booking cruises hoping to bump into them, and the agency decided, "Well, we might as well make it official so they stop harassing you two", but then why do Chris and Josh have to be there?

If this is in fact The Cruise, and not a decoy cruise, then it's really sad for Andy and Kenny. Andy specifically said that he bought the tickets for the two of them so they could relax. Especially up until Kenny's birthday party, he had been working really hard (rehearsals for the birthday party, rehearsals for the shows he puts on at school), so Andy specifically said that he wanted to take Kenny away so he could have rest.

If that's what's happened, it's a really shitty thing to do. They just want to have a break and hang out together, just let them.

(But on the other hand...HOLY SHIT ANDY BOUGHT CRUISE TICKETS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY? Relationship CONFIRMED!!)

All the Chinese comments on lisley's Instagram I'm seeing are assuming it's The Cruise. :(

It was floated on Twitter that maybe the agency just stole the idea of a cruise, but...if we don't see any Instagram cruise pics from these two from a different cruise (they promised they'd share pics of their vacation with their fans) later this year, then we'll know for sure what happened.

It feels like such a shitty thing to do.

There are several other fans on Instagram who are also basically saying, "Wait, I thought it was just supposed to be the two of them on vacation, now it's turned into a work outing for them?!" and "So we're all going end up the third wheel?"

(Fun fact, I've learned today that Chinese internet slang for "third wheel" is "lightbulb" 電燈泡.)

To add extra meta, I've always heard the expression as "fifth wheel." XD I love language/culture stuff like this! I'm remembering the Tumblr post with the long list of Russian proverbs... Do you know how/why "lightbulb" serves the same purpose as an extraneous person?

I think that language has evolved to the point where 'fifth wheel' applies for groups and 'third wheel' for couples? But agree that 'fifth wheel' was the original term.

I don't know the exact origin of 'lightbulb', but I wonder if it comes from the 'how many people does it take to change a lightbulb sentiment'?

I also learned last night that "flash" 闪 (e.g. of light) is Chinese internet slang for a display of affection between two people. So it's possible that lightbulb came from flash, but it's hard to tell which was chicken and which was egg.

Here (UK) the equivalent to third wheel is "gooseberry" and no I do not know why :D

I had NO IDEA gooseberry was third wheel, and I lived in the UK for 5 years! Thank you for enlightening me.

I also would like to know what the origin is. In the Victorian ages it seemed to mean to have a chaperone if you were a couple in love, but... ...still not sure where the 'gooseberry' part comes in.
