I'm participating in some fanvid-making exercises in another community and I've chosen Trapped as the source material I'll be using throughout the exercises. I've completed the first exercise which was to make one video focusing within a limited amount of the source (2 hours or less) with two different audio tracks while also following some other rules (lol). I chose Jack & Zhao Zi, from episodes 9 & 10.

Very cool! I really enjoyed the way this kind of highlighted the importance of song choice—although the two vids have the same clips, the songs give them very different vibes. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! It's a thing vidders do sometimes, remix our existing vids with other songs to see what happens. But usually we just do it for our own amusement, and never show anyone, lol.

I like “Take on me” version, too, but I love “Armor” a bit more. The words of that song are a great fit for Jack/Zhao Zi IMO.

Me too, but it's so funny how Armor was the second choice and I was really only looking for something with the right rhythm to match the first song! I look forward to going through the rest of the exercises and seeing what else I can do with this show.

OMG I love these so much.

I am so impressed by how fast you can vid, Boni, it seems like it must be one of those things that takes forever! There are so few Jack/Zhao Zi scenes, and you really do make the best of them. It's amazing! ♥♥♥♥

Ah but the secret is you only see the ones I finish quickly and you can't see all the WIPs in my projects folder that are months and years old and still not done lol

This is so neat! I love how it shows you the bones of the vidding process, which has always been like alchemy to me :D

Do you have a preference between these two?

(Also Zhao Zi and Jack have *excellent* six second moments XDDD)

I am surprised to find my preference leaning more and more toward the second one (Armor) just because it is such a Jack song for me and I have been wanting to use it for Jack for a long time and I sort of just tossed it on the timeline to see what would happen. If I take one of these further into a full vid it will probably be that one, and focus more on Jack's character overall as well as his growing relationship with ZZ.
