I think in order for a character to be likeable, you have to also like their friends and how they act towards them, and this is another thing Trapped does very well. Yes! I finally caught up in my rewatch last night and mentioned how I love Tang Yi's relationship with Dr. Jiang, too.
Does anyone else think Tang Yi and Andy are (or have been) regular fuckbuddies? Maybe they even have occasional threesomes with Andy's BF when Tang Yi's feeling especially lonely? Like, they really get off on just taking good care of this beautiful, lonely, lost mob boss when gang rulership gets extra difficult.
I rewound Jack protecting Zhao Zi from Ah-De like five times. He's already pulling Zhao Zi away before Ah-De's arm comes down. His mercenary reflexes are en-fucking-gaged in defense of this smol cop.
Meng Shao Fei is variously an awkward turtle and a total spicy food + coke reprobate, and you can see Tang Yi being like, oh no, I'm falling for this guy? I don't know how many times I've repeated the "I can't believe I'm gonna sleep with him; well you don't have to; nah I'm gonna" Brooklyn Nine-Nine exchange while watching this show (applies to The Untamed, too, imo).
