Welcome to the HIStory3: Trapped 圈套 Community on Dreamwidth

Even the though the fandom is spread around on various social media platforms, I think there are enough people on Dreamwidth who have seen the show to merit a separate community to celebrate our favorite disaster gangsters and their disaster cop boyfriends.

This is a comm for discussing and sharing the love of Trapped 圈套 and its related content, including:
• All types of discussion, discourse, and squee
• Actor news and spam (RPS and speculation is acceptable)
• Fan works (fanfiction, podfic, art, icons, vids, etc.), including your own work, challenges, recs and fanwork finding, beta requests

Hi everyone!! And thanks so much for starting the comm, Skuld!

How I came to watch Trapped
It was entirely down to very effective peer pressure by Skuld and naye over some excellent biangbiang noodles.

My favorite scene in Trapped
I'm only 15 minutes into a rewatch so I am going to have to come back on another occasion with more thoughts but I think... Jack and Zhao Zi's kitchen scene? That conversation about how they're going to share the housework is so sweet, and then the making out (with Zhao Zi getting confident enough to get a little pushy - he's starting to know what he likes) is UNF.

I like Trapped because
It's just so funny and warm and sweet. And after watching a couple of mainland Chinese dramas based on BL novels, it was pretty emotional for me to watch this drama where the romance can be a *romance* and queer characters get a happy ending. (Erm, obviously this is not meant to be a dig at Guardian, which continues to be my constant obsession :D)

(I wonder if they ever role play cop and gangster, or if it's too real for them for it to be fun? I can see Jack and Zhao Zi trying it out, but Zhao Zi would just get a fit of the giggles and it would devolve into tickling, rolling around and making out while laughing a lot.)

Also THIS fits very nicely into the vibe, what with Shao Fei peacocking up to Tang Yi from his few inches less of height, and Tang Yi very visibly going weak at the knees over it.

My latest rewatch was with a friend. When this scene came on I paused it and said "And here we have our first instance of Meng Shao Fei getting himself into a situation a little deeper than he can actually swim." OH A-FEI!

And thank you for being willing to beta! It's a comfort knowing I'll be in good hands, this being my first fic in the fandom. <3

I can't believe that Meng Shao Fei is such a disaster that he would POINT A GUN AT A CIVILIAN and Tang Yi would be such a disaster that he would tuck it under his chin and be all like "I FUCKING DARE YOU."

I think it would be funny for Shao Fei to try to roleplay the gangster, and for Tang Yi to realize that Shao Fei's actually good at it, and oh no, he's getting turned on.

Also, I'm convinced that a solid fraction of the time that Jack and Zhao Zi try something new with sex they end up dissolving into giggles and laughter.
