I forgot to also say thank you for explaining the significance of a confession of liking in Chinese culture. It's probably a result of watching too many romance dramas - whether BL or not - that I find this so fascinating. It makes characters whom I really wouldn't expect to express such things state their feelings out loud, clearly enough that the other understands (and can respond).
